I know what many of you are thinking.

About 10% of you are angry about the new season of Young Justice: Invasion because it dared change so dramatically. You are being very loud and making it seem like the end of the world as we know it.

The other 90% I'd wager are very excited and happy!

For those of you that dislike change and plot twists in new seasons, I suggest you watch Scooby Doo. Without the plot progression, we do not have a DC cartoon. Let me summarize this for you: the previous season's plot was resolved very handily. Greg Weisman, genius as he is, knows there's no reason to overmilk the series. Because of the nature of this cartoon fanservicing with as many characters as possible and giving us a huge array of DC Universe fandom, the story had to go on--quickly! What I personally like about this is...

NO FILLER EPISODES.

Every episode counts and so far no episode has disappointed in the least. This newest episode was mostly void of plot for the purpose of settling us into a new world. Think of season 1 as a reeeeeeally long pilot episode to something even more interesting. Season 1 was the beginning of Young Justice, whereas in Season 2 they're more like a pre-Justice-League team. With the introduction of Beast Boy you can probably see this going in a general Teen Titans direction. The Justice League is growing steadily, and the bad guys continue to impress.

In the end, I think we all need to sit back and give this series a chance. So far, every new episode brought with it some crazy plot twists, so what did you all expect from a whole new season? I trust that these awesome writers will not let us down for quite some time to come. Do not fear! It's not the end of the world as we know it. Right now, we are mourning the loss of certain characters and their relationships, but soon we will learn to love the new ones and the changing relationships make the show relatable. It's so much like real life!

I hope you guys give the show a chance. I'd discourage all the negative comments I've been seeing and some of them that I've even had to censor. Critiques are okay. Rebellions are not. This is a fan club...if you don't like the show...leave...? But my suspicion is that most of you already are waiting for S2E2 with bated breath. Stay tuned! And I wanna see some good fan art of all these new characters! (and old characters with new designs!)

***EDIT: By the way, if any of you watched Justice League, they did something very similar between season 2 and 3. I personally liked the later seasons better because of all the new characters.

I'm not all right with what they've done at all. Their central core of characters was something they had a great chance to further expound upon, and instead they threw a good portion of those by the wayside for a much larger group. Constant alternation seems to be the way to go, and it just doesn't feel like the same show as before.

They'd already set questions in motion as far as what happened to those in the League who'd left for a certain period of time, and that the viewers/writers were along for the ride. Now it's that the writers have the answers to all those questions and they're dangling them like a carrot when there wasn't a point to other than to insult those already invested.

As for no filler? The progression means little. All that's really been explained at this point is that a few of them stayed, some joined the League for whatever reason, and the invasion is on. We get tidbits here and there, but it's just not enough. There were much better ways to handle it and achieve the same result without alienating any of their viewers, and they should have thought it through more.

I do like the new season and yeah I get the whole thing 'bout the Justice League doing the same. I don't hate the new season and everyone keeps asking 'bout some of the previous members, I'm quite sure they didn't reveal everything in the 1st episode because all of the questions will be answered in upcoming episodes. I don't mind the time skip, but I still wonder about the Light and like Batman was supposed to be the greatest detective and he didn't figure out what happened in the last 16 hrs when some of the members were gone and it's now 5 yrs into the future...

But anyhow, I like how they did season 2, but still SuperMartian... I know it shows life, but every show I know always show that your 1st love is never your true love and it's a little disappointing (btw, I'm not including Disney)

first off don't undermine the original series by calling it a pilot to this one, no real fan would ever do something like that, every episode counts and every character counts. and the first episode of the original was much better than the new one
now my opinion about the new series, personally i don't mind change and though it's over done i am ok with time skips
but in all honesty the original young justice group could have gone for another season quite easily, those characters were and are more interesting than some of the new ones.
besides Lagoon Boy,Blue Beetle and Bumblebee i just don't find the other characters all that interesting, i was kinda expecting more from Tim but i know it would be terribly hard for him to outshine Dick mainly because he came off as a much stronger Robin than Tim when he was first introduced. and i was also expecting Impulse, i hope they dont leave out this speedster in the new series.
i am dieing to see more Blue Beetle and Lagoon boy, they really made this episode worth it. they are my kid flash and Robin for this serie[by this i mean easily likeable characters that i don't have to enjoy through character developement], i'm also expecting more from beast boy on the funny/entertaining factor and i do hope he does not disappoint.
well ths is only the 1st episode [though the 1st is usually the one that matters most]

I'm a little biased because Tim Drake is one of my favorite characters in fiction, but I thought the first new episode was great. A lot of new characters and a lot of new opportunities for growth. It did feel a little strange how abruptly they cut off season 1 without much warning, but I am still happy with it and I think we'll get the answers we want in due time. The only problem I had was that Dick's voice hasn't changed. He is/looks 18 but still has the voice of a 13 year old. Even M'gann's voice changed and she just went from 48 to 53. It just feels really weird.

I am not really upset about the change just that Cartoon Network changed the name in the listing so my DVR didn't record it. DOH! I'm excited to see them do new stuff and to see how they show us what has happened to cause these big changes even if it was that missing 16 hours that caused it. Anyways OMG NIGHTWING YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

I loved the first episode and all the new characters. I'm personally happy they did the time skip. If they continued with the show after such a strong ending in the last season it would have been really hard to get a second season that would have been as good. This way we get a whole new beginning as well as old and new character. Plus i'm totally stoked about Tim, Beast Boy and Wonder girl. It is kinda funny though how, at the start, everyone was complaining that is was Dick instead of Tim, but now that they've gotten their way they're still complaining. You just can't please some people.

I really missed the old pieces of the show, but I'm also so excited for the new season I could just shrivel up and die during this long wait! I've been waiting for Nightwing, Beast Boy and Batgirl to finally come in, and then when I first saw season 2 last Saturday I could have cried the happiest tears ever to be cried.
The only thing I'm sad about is Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Artemis. They were some of my favorites and I'm on the edge of my seat wondering where they are.
The changes I think are really well done and the new characters well introduced, but the 5 year time skip was a large hurdle and I was a little lost for part of the episode.
Otherwise, no complaints from me!

The new episode was bad, it was just a complete shock. I love the new characters, but I'm going to miss Dick as Robin. Plus, who thought that SuperMartian would break up? Not me! And where the heck are Wally, Artemis, Kaldur and Roy? I mean, Roy's arm was freakin' missing and Spitfire finally happened (And I just miss Kaldur). I just hope the pull all the loose ends together, and soon.

And on the subject of Spitfire. Did they have to make it happen so soon? I mean, yeah it's there and yes everyone knows it, but they could have milked out a bit more friction between Artemis and Wally before putting them together. The last episode of season 1 was a bit rushed at the end. I didn't enjoy the kissing, where EVERYONE was paired with someone. Plus, Rocket was only in, like, 2 episodes before and she was hooked up with Kaldur.

Anywho, that's my thought on things.

Looking back, I realize my first sentence was off. I meant to say "The new episode WASN'T bad, it was just a complete shock."

But, yeah, it was rushed. I can see why some people like it, but the change was too much for an obsessive fan like me. They could have eased into it a bit slower, or at least given us some more moments with the original team. The episode was nice to watch, just not what I was hoping and waiting for.

the kiss scenes in the last episode just threw me off i hate how the creators just force these relationships onto us with out any type of real intimate development. i real didn't mind the whole meganxconner shipping at the end because they were always seen as an official couple. i really wanted to see some more of rocket before she was randomly paired up with aqua lad. i didn't mind zatanna and robin cause i kinda knew something like this was going to happen. but the whole transition from friends to lovers for artemis and kid flash was just so rushed.

I agree. I mean, Rocket had only been in one episode before, and Wally and Artemis weren't in that stage of their relationship. Supermartian was ok, but I really hate Robin and Zatanna. They seem to perfect for each other, so it seems the relationship wouldn't really work out.

I enjoyed this episode, but I also am very saddened by it. I'm not angry, exactly, but I do feel as though something has been lost. I was thrilled to see Nightwing and Beast Boy and I liked very much the interaction between Tim Drake's Robin and Dick Grayson's Nightwing. Their scenes reminded me more of the previous season than the rest of the episode.

Where I found that I was disappointed was not so much upset with what they've done, what's IN this epsiode, but more the sheer abruptness of it and by what's been passed over (much like my reaction to the ending of the Harry Potter series). I would have liked to see, say, one episode or even half an episode or scene even to bridge the gap between the seasons, right at the start. Five years covers a LOT of their lives and I feel that we've missed a LOT by not getting to be a part of it. I wanted to see more of the process of Dick becoming Nightwing. There's so much story there, you know? And while I do get that we'll be provided with answers eventually---whether sooner or later---it doesn't change the fact that the show won't be the same again and I, personally, can understand why so many fans are upset by that.

So I'm still watching the show, but I do think that the change of pace was a bit too blunt.

I find that I agree very much with the bunch at IGN [link]

I kind of feel like the ratio is off here. It seems to me that about...60% of the people in the fandom are upset with this and then 40% of fans are pretty excited.

Personally. I was very VERY pleased with this episode. So here comes my long ass post. lol

The fact that the show is starting to follow in the comics footsteps really pleases me. Like. A lot. In fact my whole reason for getting into the show pretty much started off as a joke. I thought the show really made a mockery of a good comic.

But as I sat through it, I came to really appreciate it's artistic license.

in my opinion, from what I'm seeing, a lot of the fans don't really grasp story boarding or artistic and interesting ways of telling a story. People are freaking out because the time skip has left them all confused and the fact that Wally, Art and Kaldur are no where to be found is causing a major upstir.

Guys.

have you ever read a story that starts in the center or near the end of things and then back tracks and proceeds to fill in missing peices of the puzzle? I really hope so because it's truely a brilliant and captivating way to tell the story.

Here it's blatantly obvious that this is not the case. I have complete faith in Greg that he's going to fill us in as needed as the season progresses. Which obviously means we'll find the whearabouts of our lost heros. The fact that they weren't there obviosuly hints that their dissappearence is important and it'll come into play.

Think about it. would you really continue to watch or read something if you were fed everything at one time?

i wouldn't. personally I think thinks are more gratifying when the puzzle finally clicks and you get that really satisfying "OHHHHHHH" moment.

I agree I thought the new years episode kisses were a little cheezy and sloppy but to be honest, I like when shows aren't always focusing on romantic stuff. I mean, yeah, It's nice to ship things but that's not what Young Justice is about.

The things i REALLY liked about this was that Tim was brought in. And if they start to stick more to the comic plot I will be very pleased.

In the comics if you guys have read them, Wonder Girl and Supes are a couple. So to be honest I never really liked Supermartian. I'm an avid TimKon shipper and if Conner was to be with any girl, I'd like it to be Cassie. That being said, Since the break up it appears Conner is still really torn up about it and I'm kind of hoping that somehow that will help kindle Tim and Kon's legendary friendship. I'd LOVE to see that on this show.

I'm also really excited about this whole, Immortality issue with superboy. Of course, since I'm an avid LOTR fan I immediately was like "oh shit conner's an elf fff" Lame I know. But it always brings me to that scene where Arwens future is shown and she's in a funeral dress crying over aragorns grave.

LIke...ug...I was honestly having so many feels about superboy having to watch his friends and loved ones die and have to go on with out them. it's so tragic and wonderful ;A;

And here's where my theory comes into Play. I figure somehow a relationship or an event will cause Conner to go to Lex Luthor to try and fix the problem so he can age. And then obviously Luthor would have leverage over him.

I'm also curious to see if the show will blend in Teen Titan's plots along with it. And if so, I would LOVE to see Conner die. I'm sorry that sounds so morbid but I LOVE me some good tragedies.

So all in all I'm very excited for this new season. c:

You know what really disappointed me was this new M'Gann's love interest. As I was watching the first season of Young Justice, I thought they were going to do something different and actually make the couple of SB/MM a constant and stable one. Because in the comics Superboy is with Wonder Girl, now with they five year gap, the writers of this show kept it with the comics, which is annoying me quite a bit right now. I want to know what happened and if they are going to hook up Miss Martian with Superboy again? That would be really cool! Plus Lagoon is like five years younger than her, soooo I am confused. What was really funny was how Supy stomped off after watching his old flame kissing the 'new' guy, lol. Anyway, I am still going to watch this show, but the big deal about the old couple that the team members made, and now they broke up just makes me sad :(

Meh, I still feel like Rocket was just thrown into Season 1 as a love interest for Kaldur. The ending to Season 1 just felt a little too...wrapped up with a little pink bow, you know? As a Spitfire fan, I was even disappointed with the New Years kiss...it just seemed sudden. I would have liked to see these issues addressed...or at least hinted at in the first episode. It seemed like a pilot for a completely different series, not a transition between two seasons. I felt like I was watching Anime there for a bit!

Most glaringly...what happened to clone!Roy and real!Roy? It seemed like the Light had something planned--what happened with that plan?

Anyway, all that whining/musing aside, I'm a little shocked hardly anyone's addressed this yet: HOLY CHEESEMUFFINS BATMAN! WONDERGIRL IS MORE THAN JUST A CAMEO!!! And it's Cassie!!! My nerdy-comic-book self is kind of excited about the Conner/Megan breakup...as it could mean possible Cassie/Conner fluff in the future. One can hope, right?

I really like this new season. In fact, I this pilot to last season's finale. I understand that they're not milking things, and I really appreciate Greg for moving everything forward, but there's a difference between that and moving too quickly. I think that what everyone is complaining about is that we had a season's (in fact a whole show's!) worth of issues resolved in 22 minutes, without even an effect on the team warranting them having been issues to begin with.

And then, poof, we have a new team who'll probably have a host of problems themselves. Mostly I'm worried that they'll receive the same exposition and growth and then have it ki-boshed in the finale before we time skip again and all we'll have is a show about Damien Wayne being broody, because there's no where else to time-skip to. (That being bad is a personal opinion though, I know a lot of people would be excited to Damien, and I can respect that even though I wouldn't be)

I think the writers could have resolved the events far more gracefully than they did. The time skip was abrupt and jarring and completely decimates the attachment our fan base had for the original characters. We don't want to think of the original series as a pilot - that's a terrible idea! Why would a series continue for a whole season carefully crafting a team, only to have it completely torn down the next season? What show does this?

It's not the characters I mind, personally, but the completely brutal way they were just thrown at us - rather like Rocket's sudden appearance in ep 25. There are better ways that new characters could have been introduced or even simply spotlighted. Continuing with familial characters isn't milking the series, it is grounding it - after all, the target audience is most likely starting at an age much younger than many of us, throwing random bunches of characters at them isn't the best way to get them to love the series. There are 150+ pokemon, but there are only a handful of trainers to remember.

The writing on Young Justice has ranged from tear-bendingly spectacular, to downright abysmal, but I'm not about to take my displeasure anywhere other than my own page - it's my opinion, I'll keep it mine, and I'm curious to know where the show will go. But I do think perhaps the spokesperson for Young Justice Fans ought to be a little more discerning with their criticism? Simply "Guys, this group is for YJ fans, keep your beef on your own page" would have sufficed - there's no need to be condescending, you'll only make those who already feel incensed and cheated feel even more so. Speak gently to the little child, and thy onslaught of butthurt will surely wane.

Also, I watched Scooby Doo in the 80s. Never again.

Couldn't agree more. I'll absolutely keep watching, but it was just such a sudden shock for me and it's going to take A LOT to get use to it. It reminds me of JLU; JL was the core 7, then in JLU, they introduced a million new heroes (and practically cut out Wally entirely, save a few episodes).
I liked the old characters and hope to see them ALL working with the new kids.
Also, I'm a huge Blue Beetle fan, but even that was a shock.
